Biography

I have spent over 40 years as a competitive sportsperson. Firstly as a footballer, then as a road runner and for the latter 15 years as a triathlete and cyclist. I have represented Great Britain in Triathlon and Duathlon world championships as an age-grouper and have been a national age-group triathlon champion. During this time photography has been merely a passionate hobby but now that my competitive career is over I am combining my knowledge of sports and photography in a second career as a sports photo-journalist.

Based in the North-East of England but willing to cover events anywhere, I make an offer to all event organisers that, in exchange for allowing me access to your events for photography purposes I will produce race reports and send these, with suitable photographs to a magazine and newspaper of your choice. You may also have six images of your choice free of charge to use for your own publicity purposes. For triathlons in the north of England this usually means "220 magazine" and "The Northern Echo" but if you would prefer other outlets just let me know.

I will stress however that submission of reports does not guarantee publication. I have a good raport with the publications mentioned and usually do get coverage but not always. I can guarantee however that all multi-sports events I cover in the North-East of England will be reported in Northern Pulse, the website for the North-East Region of British Triathlon.
